Asparagus
Freshly cut asparagus from Warband Hof in the region. A true delicacy from late April / early May through to June. We prepare the asparagus gently to preserve its freshness and flavour. That’s how we serve this “king of vegetables” — both as a main course and as a side dish for our restaurant guests.
From November to March, we prepare traditional Ammerland kale for you. The classic sides — Pinkel, Kochwurst, smoked pork loin, and pork belly — are just as much part of the experience as hearty fried potatoes or boiled potatoes. For groups of 20 or more, we also offer a kale buffet. So look forward to a hot, hearty meal in our warm and welcoming dining rooms.

Fresh and hot from the oven, our roast duck is brought straight to our guests’ table. We source our ducks from regional farmers, with a keen eye on quality. Popular regional side dishes include Brussels sprouts, red cabbage, and potatoes.

The roots of the “prägleti Hardöpfel” go back to the 19th century. The name “Rösti” came about later. In the old days, farmers used to eat them straight from the pan for breakfast. From time to time, we offer homemade original Bernese Rösti, garnished with a fresh market salad.
Our homemade tarte flambée is a favourite with young and old alike. We prepare it in a variety of styles — sometimes classic with bacon and onions, sometimes with fresh salmon. Our house wine, a crisp dry-fruity Pinot Blanc, pairs absolutely perfectly with it.

In the kitchen of the Altes Stadthaus, we love fresh products. Our team of chefs honours traditional German home-style cooking and enjoys giving classic dishes — such as grandmother’s cabbage rolls or swede stew — a fresh, modern twist. Healthy herbs from our own garden add the finishing touch.

Our “Good-Mood Breakfast Buffet” also features our own products — such as our home-marinated sheep’s cheese in oil and herbs. It pairs beautifully with fresh tomatoes, as well as on dark rye bread and crusty bread rolls.
When it comes to meat and fish, our Stadthaus sauces are an absolute must: a barbecue sauce with steak, a fruity light curry sauce with chicken fillet, or a curry ketchup with currywurst — they’re the perfect finishing touch to our grilled and pan-fried dishes.

“We also create little bites!” Whether with shrimp, tomatoes, salmon, or cheese — when there’s a celebration at the Altes Stadthaus, no wish is left unfulfilled. Talk to us about your culinary ideas for your special day. We’ll be happy to bring them to life with our kitchen team.
The Altes Stadthaus is also known for its outstanding schnitzels. Try our various schnitzel dishes — such as the “Coastal Schnitzel” with shrimp or the Hunter’s Schnitzel with mushrooms. Whether with our delicious Belgian fries or crispy fried potatoes with bacon… a real treat for the palate!
